October 2026 Release Recap
October brought your logo on printed kiosk receipts, eCardSystems gift cards, a food requirement for alcohol orders, and loyalty card sign-in for Paytronix+Olo. Here's the recap.
Highlights
Add Your Logo to Printed Kiosk Receipts — Upload a header or footer image in Receipt Settings, set how wide it prints, and check it on a sample receipt before you save. Needs kiosk app ChromeOS 0.3.8 or Android 2.22.5.
Pay with eCardSystems Gift Cards — Guests can scan, swipe or type an eCardSystems gift card at the kiosk, check the balance and pay with it.
Hide Coupon Names and Codes on Receipts — One Receipt Settings toggle keeps coupon names and codes off guest receipts.
Skip the Name Prompt for Scan-Only Orders — Guests who only scan items can pay without typing a name, and the order gets a name you choose.
Reward Point Costs Now Stand Out on the Kiosk — A reward's point cost can show in a colored badge under the reward name, so guests spot it faster.
Paytronix+Olo Guests Can Sign In with Their Loyalty Card — Guests can sign in to loyalty with their card number as well as their phone number.
Require Food with Every Alcohol Order — One Kiosk Setting stops guests from checking out an alcoholic drink without a food item.
Manager Code for Scanned Items: Choose When It's Required — Choose whether staff enter a manager code never, when a guest removes a scanned item, or also when they leave the menu with one.
Guest Experience
Calorie Totals — Hidden required modifiers now count toward an item's calorie total.
Declined Card Message — On Moneris and FreedomPay terminals, guests who tap a card you don't accept, like Amex, are told so and asked for a different card.
Loyalty & Integrations
Olo — With the new Send SMS Marketing Opt-In setting, when a guest opts in to marketing at the kiosk, Olo Engage gets it as an SMS opt-in. The guest also needs to enter a phone number.
PAR Brink — Items 86'd in Brink come off the kiosk menu right away instead of waiting for the next menu sync. Promotion codes now sync from Brink's Codes tab by default.
Oracle Simphony — Items 86'd in Simphony come off the kiosk menu within moments instead of waiting for the next menu sync.
Toast — Order status texts can go out as soon as Toast updates the order; ask your Bite team to turn it on. Appfront loyalty group IDs are supported.
CBORD Campus Cards — You choose which CBORD tenders guests can pay with, and charge accounts still appear at a zero balance.
Thanx — Thanx reward images show on the kiosk rewards screen when Show Reward Images is on in Kiosk Settings.
Paytronix+Olo — Kiosk orders now send the purchase to Paytronix, so signed-in guests earn points.
Payments
Tax-Exempt Stored Value — Refunding a tax-exempt stored-value payment now puts the tax back on the order, and kiosks apply the exemption.
Abandoned Orders Refund Right Away — When a kiosk order is abandoned after a partial payment, the partial payment is refunded immediately.
Operator Tools
Copy Order Details — A Copy Details button on an order in Bite Admin copies the order summary for support tickets.
Receipt Preview — The sample receipt in Receipt Settings fills in your location's name, address and phone, and shows Punchh loyalty codes where they print.
Sales Dashboard — The dashboard opens on the latest period with sales data and shows a "Data through" date, so a new week or month no longer opens empty.
What's New — Bite Admin's What's New panel shows only the latest monthly recap.
Behavior Changes
Scanned Repeats Merge by Default — Every location now merges repeat scans of the same item into one cart line as its kiosk build updates. To keep separate lines, ask your Bite team to set Duplicate item merging to None.
Campus Card Balances Hidden by Default — Campus card payments now keep account balances off the kiosk at every campus card integration, including existing ones, and list only the accounts that can cover the order. Receipts and refunds use campus-card wording, which you can edit under Custom Strings. To show balances again, ask your Bite team.
Guided Kiosk Setup Everywhere — The kiosk setup screen now opens with Quick Start at every location, new and existing. It walks through the receipt printer, payment terminal, scanner and other connected devices one at a time and tests each. Manual Setup is still available.
Location Alert Rules — Per-location kiosk alert rules are now managed by Bite; use Kiosk Order Ready to watch all your kiosks.
