[Toast integration] Adding a custom message for menu items added to cart via barcode scanning

Bite now offers the ability to append a short message to scanned-in items via the Special Requests field in the Toast integration.

We built this feature based on valuable feedback we received from our customers selling various "scan-and-go" items and needed a way to denote menu items that were added to the order by scanning the barcode of those items. This can let the on-site restaurant team members know that they do not need to fulfill that menu item as part of the incoming order, as it is assumed that the guest already has the item in-hand.

This setting can be configured for each location by navigating to the Bite Admin Portal > Integrations tab and clicking on the Toast integration and configuring the Send Description to POS and Description For POS fields.
