New Group Ordering feature now available
We’ve heard our customers' feedback about the challenges of fulfilling orders with multiple items for different guests, and we’re thrilled to announce a new feature designed to address this problem! Our new Group Ordering feature will now prompt guests to specify who each item is for when they finish customizing an item and add it to their cart. This enhancement helps your team easily identify which item belongs to which customer, improving order accuracy and operational efficiency.
Please note that this feature is currently available for customers on Brink, Toast, Olo and Simphony integrations using v1 of our UI. We will be rolling it out in v2 of our UI in the near future. Ensure your system is running biteinc-gcn.2.11.25 or greater to use this feature.
To enable this feature, please follow the below steps:
Navigate to the Common Settings tab in Bite Admin Portal
Configure Group Ordering Mode.
Ask Group Order Optional will ask the guest if they would like to enable group ordering when the guest attempts to add the first item to cart.
Ask Group Order Required will skip the group ordering prompt but will require guests to specify who the each item is for upon adding the item to cart.
Configure the Group Ordering Naming Type
Guest Name: custom string input for guest name
Number (auto-generated): ie. Guest 1, Guest 2, Guest 3...
Please refer to the table below to see which field the guest name or auto-generated number will be passed into for each POS integration:
