Enhanced Screen Reader Feature for Navigation with Storm Keypad

Bite has enhanced our screen reader feature to assist visually impaired users in navigating the kiosk menu and order flow, utilizing the Storm Interface's AudioNav Tactile & Audible System Navigation Keypad.

Minimum Requirements for screen reader functionality using Storm keypad

• Kiosks must be on UI v2 (also referred to as “Vitrine”) for this feature to work

• Kiosks must be running AndroidOS or ChromeOS

• Min vitrine version: biteinc-vitrine.1.12.0

• Min garcon version: biteinc-garcon.0.8.10

• Min APK version: v2.3.1

How to activate the feature on a kiosk

1. Ensure all minimum requirements above are met

2. Plug in the Storm keypad to the kiosk

3. Restart the kiosk app

4. Plug in headphones at any point during the ordering flow to enable the feature

How to test screen reader functionality without a physical kiosk & storm keypad

You can now preview the screen reader functionality without needing a physical kiosk or Storm D navigation pad. Simply click the Connect Storm button in the Bite Admin kiosk preview to start the audio guide, and use the on-screen buttons to simulate the storm pad navigation experience.

Please pay close attention to the audio prompts and step-by-step instructions. Users who are unfamiliar with the screen reader feature may need a moment to get accustomed to the navigation flow.
