September 2026 Release Recap

September brought Arabic to the kiosk, two new loyalty integrations, and more control over what guests see in the cart. Here's the recap.

Highlights

• Arabic on the Kiosk — Guests can order in Arabic, with a full right-to-left layout.

• Tap to Apply Loyalty Rewards — Guests redeem a reward with one tap. Rewards can also show a details button, and guests get a clear message when a reward doesn't apply to their order.

• Givex Loyalty — Sign in by card, barcode, or phone number, redeem rewards, pay with the card balance, and earn points at the kiosk.

• Spendgo Loyalty for Olo Locations — Brands running Spendgo through Olo can offer phone-number sign-in and rewards on the kiosk.

• Always Show Chosen Options in the Cart — Pick option groups, like a sauce or size, that always show in the cart, even when they're free or the default.

• Menu Covers Now Require a Fallback Image — Portrait covers need a fallback image, so a cover never shows up blank.

• Items 86'd on PAR Brink Hide Right Away — When a Brink store 86's an item, the kiosk stops selling it at once instead of waiting for the next menu sync.

Guest Experience

• Easier Gift Card Entry — Gift and comp card number and PIN fields open a number keypad, with an ABC key for cards that use letters (rolling out). A new Cancel button lets guests back out of the gift card method prompt.

• Cleaner Loyalty Lines at Checkout — Discount-only rewards no longer add a zero-value loyalty line; the reward's own discount line shows the value.

• Custom Styling for Loyalty Sign-In — New CSS class names on the loyalty login options let brands rearrange them.

• Page Navigation — Kiosks no longer open page navigation on a page that's been hidden.

Loyalty & Integrations

• Punchh Business Key — Punchh and Punchh+Olo integrations accept a business key, sent with standard Punchh POS requests.

• Demo Orders Don't Spend Rewards — Rewards applied on a demo-mode order are no longer redeemed in the guest's real loyalty account.

• Revel — The Sync Multiple of Same Mod setting now controls whether Revel modifiers allow multiples.

• PAR Brink — Modifiers are sent in the order set in the POS.

• iQTouch — Added support for discount items, such as a donation round-up.

• Punchh+Olo Reward Costs — Rewards on Punchh+Olo kiosks now show what they cost in points.

• Simphony Nutrition Badges — Menu badges sync from Simphony's Nutritional tag group.

Payments

• Tax-Exempt Transact Tenders — Each Transact tender is now marked tax-exempt or not. Tax is removed before a tax-exempt tender is charged.

Operator Tools

• Availability-Only POS Sync — A new sync option updates only item and modifier availability from the POS, leaving names, prices, and menu structure as you manage them in Bite. Set by Bite on request; manual syncs still run in full.

• No Overlapping Menu Jobs — Magic Copy, Precision Copy, POS menu sync, and Data Audit no longer run on the same location at the same time.

• Web Ordering Location Picker — Guests can enter one organization code to see every location, compare hours and serving status, and open a menu.

• Scanning — UPC-E barcodes now match items stored with UPC-A codes, and scannable items with only optional choices add straight to the cart.

• Fewer Unneeded Alerts — Kiosk alerts held while a location is closed are re-checked when it opens, stuck printer warnings clear on their own, and Linebuster locations are no longer included in kiosk order-ready monitoring.

• Order Updated Webhook on Refunds — Refunding an order now sends the order updated webhook.

Behavior Changes

• Loyalty Signup Mode No Longer Has "Off" — The legacy option didn't turn off the sign-up button on Vitrine kiosks, so it's gone. Locations that used it now either keep the button after payment or have loyalty sign-up turned off, based on each brand's choice.

• CBORD (SV) Retired — The legacy CBORD stored-value integration has been removed. CBORD Campus Card is unaffected.

• Kiosk Support Fields Are Bite-Only — Touch Sensitivity Profile and kiosk notes are now visible only to Bite. The unused Known Issues field is gone.

Under the Hood

• Menus and Ordering — Editing options inside a meal upsell keeps nested choices. Nested option prices count toward quantity totals, and option quantities hold when an item is edited. Precision Copy of a day part refreshes the target location, and Magic Copy keeps floating variation option groups.

• POS and Menu Sync — Toast menu sync no longer stalls on sections it didn't sync. Bulk Simphony password updates work, including usernames with spaces. Void transactions carry the right tax for compound items. POS images that failed to download are retried, and NCR Aloha menus sync through NCR's Menu V2.

• Loyalty and Payments — Paytronix rewards price correctly alongside other discounts, and the Punchh revenue code falls back correctly. FreedomPay sale errors now show in system logs, and Amex and Discover declines are recognized on Windows kiosks. Adyen terminal setup uses Adyen's current APIs. Loyalty sign-up errors show the specific reason, and a loyalty error no longer leaves the guest stuck.

• Web and Mobile Ordering — Mobile orders no longer hang while a completed session resets, the Apple Pay button is the right height, and kiosks using top navigation load again.

• Reporting — The Industry Benchmark Report no longer times out, and cart recommendation quick-adds are counted once.

• Android Kiosk (2.22.0–2.22.2) — Aurus terminals retry closing a transaction, so a brief failure doesn't block the next guest. Also includes an Aurus SDK update, a fix for a touch screen wrongly reported as disconnected, and a fix for an app crash on kiosks with HID card readers.
